The Disability Program Navigator Initiative was designed to be flexible to fit many different environments across the nation. An Integrated Resource Team (IRT) is one of many options a local career center may employ to increase support for a job seeker with a disability.
From the onset, it is important for the case worker to understand what other services agencies are providing for each individual. Through working with the job seeker and learning their goals, it can then be determined what services they may need to draw on to be successful in obtaining employment.
Once an employment plan is in place, the case worker should involve those agencies that have a service to provide the individual towards their employment goal. Agencies may participate at any time in the process that is appropriate for the services they are providing.
