New Online Video Tutorial Helps Floridians File for Unemployment Compensation
TALLAHASSEE – Agency for Workforce Innovation Director Cynthia R. Lorenzo announced today that Floridians now have the option of watching an online video tutorial before filling out their application for unemployment benefits. The short video is available on the agency’s Web site at www.floridajobs.org by clicking the “How to File” button under “Quick Links.”
The online tutorial, hosted by agency employees, provides an overview of the application process, the different filing methods and important documents and information customers need to have handy, including:
- Address and county of residence
- Details of previous employment
- Forms required of former military and government employees
The video can be watched in three different file formats, depending on a customer’s computer specifications. A transcript is also posted for the convenience of customers with disabilities and those who would like a printed copy. Spanish and Creole translations of the transcript are also posted and videos are planned for the near future.
The video, produced with the assistance of the state Department of Education’s Florida Knowledge Network at no cost to the agency, is the latest of several customer-focused improvements to www.floridajobs.org. By clicking links on the home page, Floridians are able to file for unemployment compensation, claim weeks, monitor hot topics and search for jobs on www.employflorida.com, the Employ Florida Marketplace, as well as access many other services.
